SCI-India.org is a website for the Spinal Cord Injured community of India for sharing information and providing support to others.

My name Tony J Jose, and I am the creator of this site. I am a web developer and also currently doing my MSc in Computer Science. I speak Malayalam and I am from Cochin - "The Queen of Arabian Sea".
I am myself a spinal cord injured with the injury level being T4-5 Complete. I was rendered paraplegic following a corrective surgery for kyphosis (forward bend) on my spine. The kyphosis slowly developed after a 'laminectomy' (surgery on spine) to remove a tumour which occurred at the same vertebral level about 5 years before. I use a wheelchair since 1999.

The name of the website, ie, SCI-India comes from the SCI-India yahoo group, of which i am also a member.  Thanks to Nitin and SCI-India yahoo group members for allowing to use the name, their suggestions and support.
I would also like to mention my brother Sony who also actively took part in the development of this site.

The site is created using only free and open source software, with the main software behind being 'Drupal', extended with other drupal modules. The theme (the look of the site) is by Dr Radut. My OS is CentOS linux. The source for most of the articles is wikipedia.org which is a free encyclopedia.
The site is best viewed in free browser Mozilla Firefox. I strongly recommend using it.
