I am C4 -C5 & even after four years of injury, I'm getting UTI frequently. Since last December, puss cell count is between 14 to 18. Is it normal? I'm doing CIC four times a day & take solitin 5 mg OD & vitamin C. 500 mg BD. A few drugs (Mandelamine, Uroquid acid etc) that I came to know effective are not found here in Indian market. Even the barley water which are effective at the time of UTI is not coming or maybe I don't know. Every input is valuable.

I too get frequent UTI. My urologist has now put me on a course of Cranbe 300 mg -twice a day and Econova - once a day for 3 months. These are not medicines but dietary supplements which will help produce a better environment in the bladder and fight the infection.
Econova is a Probiotic which instills good bacteria in the bladder which helps to fight infection
Econova is produced by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and is available in the chemist shops. It is quite expensive- a bottle of 10 capsules cost around Rs.450. U are supposed to take one capsule a day in the mornings for 3 months.

Accept it, allopathy medicine seldom work for UTI on a long term basis. You can try homoeopathy medicine.
I take Berberis Vulgaris and Hamamelis Virginica - 5 drops each twice a day when I am having bout of UTI. Within two days it "settles" and I don't have problem for aleast 2 - 3 months. I would recommend consulting some homeopathy doctor before taking these drops.

UTI is the most irritating infection i have ever had and i have finally managed to kick it out of my life.I am not shore of what is the medical significance of what i am going to write but this has helped me kick UTI's ass.

I drink coconut water everyday morning while going to workplace and after returning home at evening drink hot tomata soup made by my mother. After that i drink lots of water to make sure that any infection that is left flows away.

Folks, I strongly recommend you all not to depend on any medications until absolutely necessary, as it weakens your immune system in the longer run.
